Life Update: Exploration Week

Once a year, my school organizes a week in March called Exploration Week. It is a week full of trips to places in the US (and a few local Boston trips and one to Canada) that are supposed to give students a chance to travel and learn things about the world that they might not otherwise learn in school. There are trips such as the 'the south trip' where you travel through the south and learn about the Civil Rights Movement, or the 'Bay Area Protest Movement' trip that studied the AIDs movement in California. The trip that I went on this year (and was lucky enough to go on for all three past years of high school) was the 'Arts Boston' trip. This trip is pretty self explanatory. We basically go around Boston learning about all different forms of art through performances, museums, and just meeting all sorts of interesting artistic people. It takes you to see local art that maybe you didn't even know you were interested in. I would never go to an improv show in the middle of the week, but after going to Improv Asylum, and laughing hysterically the whole way through, I want to go back every night. One of the best parts about this specific trip (and this probably applies to the other trips as well) is the inspiration I get from all the art that I see.
