Travels: London Days 3-4

London: Days 3 and 4

Day 3 was less of a 'get to know London life' type day, and more of a fun for kids tourist day. In the morning we walked to Notting Hill Gate Station and took the tube to Baker street. There we went to Madame Tussaud's, one of the most famous wax museums. I took tons of pictures of celebrities, well most of my brother and a celebrities. The museum took longer than expected because there were many different rooms, a 4-D movie (which I hated!! 4-D. creeps. Me. Out), and even a little ride telling the history of London. No wonder it is such a tourist attraction.

Afterwards my brothers and dad went to the Sherlock Holmes museum while my mom, sister, and I went to a really cute cafe/home goods shop.

When we were all finished up we took the tube to the Tate Modern where I met up with my camp friend who I haven't seen since the summer. The two of us left the rest of my family and walked around the area. We crossed the Millennium Bridge, sat at a cafe, and went into TOPSHOP (of course). We had planned to meet with my family again after a couple hours for dinner. My friend and I had a little trouble finding our way around the area to get to the planned meeting location. Once we FINALLY found our way we said goodbye and I, once again, joined my family.

Day 3 was another big sight seeing day. We went to the Tower of London, then to see Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. And lastly, while the boys went to the Churchill War Rooms, the girls (that includes me) went to Harrods and gloried at all the chocolate and clothing.

Which is your favorite photograph?

Travels: London Day 1

London: Day 1

Last week I was in...LONDON!!! It was an absolutely amazing trip. If I wasn't obsessed with it before I definitely am now. I consider my self an Anglophile. I am not completley sure where this obsession began because I have never been to England before, but it probably had something to do with the British Youtubers I watch constantly.
Basically, London was the number one place on my list of places to go, and a couple of months ago when my mom told me that my dad was invited by Oxford to give a lecture and that we would all be going along with him I actually think I was the happiest I have ever been.

Over the next couple weeks my blog posts are going to include photos from every day that I was in London.

Day 1 was not very exciting. I woke up at 5:00am with everything already packed and ready to go in the car. I didn't really have time to eat breakfast because, as always, I was the last one down and my parents were yelling at me to get out of the house.
We then drove to the airport and boarded at around 8:00am.
We landed at 10:00pm and got a taxi (The taxis in London are so cute) to an apartment in Notting Hill that we were renting through a website called www.onefinestay.com. It was an apartment that belonged to an artist who loved the countryside, so whenever she visited the country she rented out her apartment through OneFineStay.
I don't have any pictures of what happened after that but we went out to dinner around the corner from the apartment at this Italian restaurant 'Pizza Metro Pizza'. Then we went back to apartment and went to sleep.

Enjoy these photos:

My breakfast: Starbucks cappuccino and oatmeal with brown sugar.

 Boarding...

 WE LANDED!!!

Once we landed we took a shuttle to Paddington Station. It is one of the most beautiful train stations I have ever seen. Well, Tube station :)

 Check out those adorable taxis!

Me in the apartment taking pictures of myself in their gorgeous mirror.

These last photos are a couple items and rooms around the artist's apartment.

Day 2 to come...

Life Update: 10 Reasons Why I Hate The Dentist

I just got back from the dentist...yay (she says sarcastically). While I was there, the dentist asked me why people always hate going to the dentist because he loved going when he was a kid. OK. I thought about this and came up with 10 reasons why I hate the dentist

1. When I arrive, I sit around and watch kids playing with Lego that I am much to old for, but can't help wishing I was little again so I could join them. Actually the waiting room isn't that bad except for the fact that I am dreading the moment the hygienist comes out and calls my name.

2. The dentist and the hygienist ask me some questions about school and what I'm going to do over vacation, and they seem so pleasant...until....

3. The hygienist calls me sweet pea. 5 times. Nobody. Wants. To. Be. Called. Sweet pea.

4. The dentist and hygienist , while sticking multiple metal tools in my mouth, gossip about other people in the office and that wedding they went to last week. I don't know who they are talking about. It's really rude to talk about other people in front of me when I don't know what They're talking about.

5. When my mouth is open for too long, it is physically impossible not to swallow, but when I do swallow, I have to do it really carefully so as not to accidentally touch the SUPER DANGEROUS tool and cut my tongue.

6. They give me a pair of kid's sunglasses that I know are not the right size or shape for my face and then I wonder if I look completely ridiculous in them. I will never know.

7. As the dentist is drilling holes into my tooth, he asks me questions and kinda excepts me to answer. I don't know about you, but I can't really speak with my mouth open the widest possible.

8. The whole time, I feel like I'm watching a hospital scene in a movie when all of the doctors are crowded around the camera and it looks like their doing some really serious procedure... Except it is actually me and they are just looking right into my mouth.

9. The hygienist's job is to stick sucking tubes into my mouth, and then she tells me to close my mouth so that all the extra water is sucked away and instead of it going into the tube it squirts right out into my face.

10. Lastly, the worst thing about the dentist is that when it's finally over and I get to go home, it really isn't over. I'm stuck with a horrible taste in my mouth and numb cheeks for the rest if the day.

But, although the dentist is terrible, there is one good thing that makes it all better...

Thanks for reading my rant! Familiar?
